About the event
Roscommon Sessions is a dynamic quartet of traditional Irish musicians exploring the energy and spontaneity of Irish sessions. Lively jigs and reels, songs, and the occasional musical surpriseG. Scott Jones is Director of Bands at Thurgood Marshall S.T.E.M. High School and Wogaman Middle School in Dayton Public Schools. He is also Adjunct Instructor of Low Brass and Jazz at Central State University. He earned his D.M.A. in Trombone Performance from West Virginia University, his M.M. in Improvisation from the University of Michigan, and his B.M. in Jazz Studies from Central State University. His performance repertoire includes from jazz, classical, and avant-garde. He composes works for solo instruments, large ensembles, and chamber groups that blend Jazz, Funk, and Classical traditions.
