Anthony Powers' "Constellations" descends on the Emporium Art Gallery

The Emporium Art Gallery is proud to present the newest collection "Constellations" by Anthony Powers. This group will be featured during November and December at Emporium Wines & Underdog Cafe. “Constellations” is an exhibition of works by Yellow Springs-based artist Anthony Powers. The collection, which includes drawings, paintings, and wood carvings, draws connections and parallels between otherwise distant points in conceptual space. In art as well as in life, Anthony Powers uses eclecticism in pursuit of unity- he is a muralist, musician, designer, craftsman, and writer as well as an artist, on a relentless quest for the meaning that transcends medium. His “Constellations” grouping makes use of certain “echoes” in motif, gesture, palette, and juxtapositions as an invitation to the feeling that everything is connected, even across the greatest of distances. The work casts a metaphorical searchlight for the ephemeral bridges between “Within” and “Without”, the “Cosmic” and the “Intimate”, “Impulse” and “Eternity”.
